Mr.Elf (Part 1)

Mr. Elf (Part 1)

In a world different from ours, there once lived Mr. Elf. Mr. Elf was a spell master. He lived in a vast house full of potions and glistening sparks. He had a ginormous library full of spell books and enchanted potions. He was a wonderful wise man and he would often make potions to sell everyday at the marketplace.

One of the potions that nobody knew how to make except for exceptional Mr. Elf was the one and only immortality potion. It required a tortoise shell, the tentacle of an immortal jellyfish and the branch of the wisdom tree.

The reason why the potion could not be made by other spell masters was because of the last ingredient: the branch of the spectacular and magical wisdom tree. It was found deep inside the dark, thick woods leading from the abandoned neighbourhood.

It is said to be haunted and no ordinary man ever dared to enter. However, Mr. Elf had managed to do so every time he brewed the immortality potion.

One typical Tuesday, Mr. Elf was going to the abandoned neighbourhood to get some ‘wise branches’ when he saw a peculiarly large house that was never there before. It was enormous and stood out. It was in fact a giant tree just like the wisdom tree except with a door carved into it and was hollow and was somehow another way different. It was bright, although there was no clear source of light. The light also strangely didn’t reach very far and made the tree seem creepy and eerie.

Curiosity drew him closer and he went inside. It was dusty and abandoned. There were cobwebs in every corner of the room and there was no sign of anyone. He saw a ladder all the way at the end of the room. He walked quietly but quickly towards the dusty ladder. He touched the ladder. It was grey and dusty. When let go of the ladder, he saw that his hand had left a green mark. Now his hand was dusty.

He climbed up the ladder and into the next room. It was a library of spell books just like his. However, there was a book in the shelves that caught his eyes. It had shining golden edges and was thick with paper that didn’t look like it had been there for very long. He decided to take the book. On the front cover it said in shimmering words: ‘How to brew the top 100 potions that are hardest to brew’. He flipped open the book to the first page. It had step by step instructions for how to brew the time wrinkling potion! It was the only potion in the world that nobody living knew. The only known person who ever found the potion was a man in his 30s (who is now dead) who found it on the beach!

He found a passageway to the next room which was full of potions. There he found again a glass bottle filled with a potion with no dust and with a gleaming gold cap. He read the label which said: ‘The Time Wrinkling Potion’. He was delighted to have found this! In the world of his, things like these do not surprise spell masters.

So he decided to put the spell book and the potion on the floor in the middle of the room and chanted the magical words:

things of anything that you please,
teleport them to where you ease,
swish, splosh, crackle or splat,
to my house is where you’ll land!

Suddenly, the wind grew intensely faster. It twirled around in a circle until it violently disappeared and Mr. Elf fell. When he arose, the potion and book were gone. He knew exactly where they went: to his magical house.
